Chemical peels are clinic-based procedures where a chemical solution is used to exfoliate the dead cells on the outer layer of the skin, removing superficial pigmentation and other skin blemishes in the process, leaving the skin clearer, softer, and smoother. Specialized booster peels are also available for the treatment of acne and acne scars, as well as for the treatment of stubborn pigmentation. Most of our peels have minimal to no downtime, except for the TCA peels for scars, which can cause redness and flaking for a few days. As with all laser and chemical-based procedures, it is important to follow up with sun protection.
The Elos Plus treatments, which are among our most popular treatments, are an improved technique in non-invasive total skin rejuvenation. The combination of IPL, Diode Laser and radiofrequency (RF) energy works synergistically to improve the overall colour, tone and texture of skin. The technique is virtually painless and gives you almost instant results in the face, neck, hands and decolletage. By stimulating collagen production to plump and smoothen the skin, it visibly reduces wrinkles, pores and scars, while the IPL/RF modality treats pigmentation, spider veins and rosacea. The recommended number of sessions is 6 times at monthly intervals.
Sublative RF is a radiofrequency (RF) only, non-laser and non-light-based aesthetic procedure that is FDA-cleared to treat a range of skin conditions and skin types safely. Please take note that this procedure should only be performed by an accredited medical professional. This Fractional Sublative Rejuvenation is different than traditional resurfacing as the latter removes the complete skin surface resulting in longer recovery time, while the fractional technology reaches deeper into the skin, and covers the skin area in patterns of dots which brings about faster healing.
Sublative RF is customized to various skin types, with varying intensity depending on what the problem is and how much downtime the patient can afford. In the milder setting, it can be used for enlarged pores, fine lines, and improving skin texture. This can be done once every 2-3 wks for 3 times to achieve a smoother and finer complexion. The down time is about 1-2 days of looking “tanned”, after which there will be slight flaking off of the skin. For patients with acne scars, the machine can be set at a higher intensity, which causes slightly more redness and 3-4 days of downtime. The indications for this treatment are stubborn pores, deep acne scars and uneven skin texture.
Subcision is a simple procedure to help with treating deep facial scars (especially rolling and boxcar scars) that resulted from severe acne. Its aim is to improve depressed scars resulting from acne scarring or any scar resulting from trauma or surgery that is depressed below the skin level.

One of the greatest injustices about suffering from acne is that it leaves pockmarks and dark spots on the face and body. Scars need not be permanent. When acne leaves you with hyperpigmented red or dark marks, there are effective topical creams as well as treatments such as vitamin C iontopheresis that can alleviate the condition. However, for deeply indented scars, fractional lasers may help diminish them.
The evidence-based treatments that I use in my office have made me aware of the stark contrast between what people are being sold, and what actually works to alleviate certain skin problems. My goal is to provide safe and effective treatments, and I have been greatly encouraged by my patients’ clinical outcomes.
